Did you know that the month of March is pastor’s wife appreciation month?
I had no idea, until a few of the ladies in our pastor’s wives group on Facebook mentioned it last week. My first thought was, How cool! A month just to honor pastor’s wives!
And my second thought? I’m going to have to blog about this!

I write about ministry and life as a pastor’s wife pretty frequently around here, and recently fleshed out a new Titus2 theme (thank you for your response to those posts over the last few weeks!).
Instead of working in a post for pastor’s wives here-and-there like I usually do, I decided it would be fun to do a week-long theme on topics pertaining to pastor’s wives.
I did a 7 Days of Homeschooling series several years ago, and it was a lot of fun! So how about a 7 Days for Pastor’s Wives series?
As a pastor’s wife who blogs, I get questions from pastor’s wives, or young women considering marrying a pastor, from time to time. Questions like these:
Should a pastor’s wife have a career or be a stay at home wife/mom?
How should a pastor’s wife dress?
What is a pastor’s wife’s role? What are her duties?
How do you balance family life and ministry when you’re married to a pastor?
I’ve addressed some of these questions here at the blog, but there are still lots of questions and issues that we all have about life as pastor’s wives. With that in mind, I decided to make this series a Q & A session.
Each day, for seven days, I’ll post a question pertaining to being a pastor’s wife here at the blog. I’ll respond to the question within the blog post, then you can chime in via the comments section with your own opinions and input.
How does that sound?
I’m pretty excited about this, and I would love for you to participate!
Even if you’re not a pastor’s wife, your ideas and input are most welcome. Chances are, you have a perspective that we may not see but need to hear! Everyone is welcome to read, share, and discuss.
I’m going to launch the series on March 19, so this Thursday will be Day 1 of our 7 Days of Q & A for Pastor’s Wives.
The first question we’ll tackle is,
Is it okay for a pastor’s wife to have a career, or should she be a housewife and/or stay-at-home mom?
Be thinking about that, and show up here at the blog on Thursday to read the post and share your opinion!
Before I sign off, I’m going to ask you to do TWO things for me (pretty please?):
1. Share this post with the pastor’s wives in your life.
Social media is a great tool for circulating encouraging reads, so please pass this along! I’ve sort of made it easy for you with the social sharing buttons on the left, so just click whichever one(s) you like best.
2. Subscribe by email.
I send out a weekly blog recap/newsletter on Friday afternoons, so if you don’t already get that and would like to, you can subscribe in the box below this post. I don’t spam or share emails, and you can unsubscribe at any time if you get tired of me for some strange reason.
Okay, I can’t wait to get started on 7 Days of Q & A for Pastor’s Wives!
If you have a question you’d like us to discuss here during this series, please leave a comment below or send me an email. (If for any reason you’d like to ask a question anonymously, simply email me and request to remain anonymous. I won’t share your name even if I use your question in a post.)
I’ll be sharing these Q&A posts on my blog Facebook page throughout the series, so you are welcome to join over there too. Just check out Little Natural Cottage, or hashtag #7daysforpastorswives, on Facebook, March 19-25.
We’ll kick off the series on Thursday, so stay tuned!
